Arielle Richter

Teaching Artist Statement
Exposure to music is an integral part of a child’s development. I strive to provide a warm and comfortable learning environment for children and families to express themselves through play. I love watching my students create, improvise, and explore through movement, singing and instruments. I experience great joy to watch the excitement that music brings to children and families in my classes!
Teaching Bio
Originally from Greenwich, CT, Arielle Richter graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BA in Music (voice), BS in Education and a minor in Psychology. While at UConn, she was the music director of the UConn Chordials, an all female a cappella group and soprano section leader for the UConn Concert Choir and the Vernon Chorale. Arielle combined her love of music and psychology when she sang for a music therapy program at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, CT. She knew she wanted to be an early childhood music educator after teaching music and movement to 3-7 year olds at the First Congregational Church of Coventry, CT.
Since then, Arielle has held positions as an elementary general music teacher in Middletown, CT and Scituate, MA. She has also taught as music specialist at Hingham Nursery School and Hingham JCC Early Learning Center. Arielle is currently enrolled in a graduate program at Lesley University where she will earn a Masters of Education with a Specialization in Integrated Teaching through the Arts. She started with South Shore Conservatory in 2010.
