Sally Davenport

Teaching Artist Statement
I love teaching and I love kids—teaching private lessons is the perfect job for me.

Teaching Bio
Sally Davenport has a BA from Smith College, a Diploma in Oboe Performance from the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA, and has taken courses at the Bank Street School of Education while teaching first grade at the Spence School in NYC.

She has been teaching oboe and English horn at SSC in Hingham for the last 20 years, and has taught at SSC Duxbury, and in Weymouth, Marshfield, and at Milton Academy. She has also taught theory and coached chamber groups.

Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, second oboe, 1988 – 2000
Quincy Symphony Orchestra, principal, 1991 – 2007
Hingham Civic Orchestra, principal, 1979 – 1988

In addition, Sally freelances in the Greater Boston area.
