June Chen

June Chen, a native of Taiwan, came to the U.S. to train as a professional pianist at the age of 14. She received her Master's degree in piano performance from Yale University and another master's in music education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has performed internationally, and garnered prizes that resulted in concerto appearances with the Wellesley and MIT Symphony Orchestras, as well as honorable mentions at the Artist International Competition.

Apart from performing, she has a passion for teaching and has taught extensively for the past 10 years. She enjoys working with all levels of students, and covers a wide range of musical genres including classical, jazz, pop, and folk. Her students have given successful recitals and passed with high honors at numerous musical exams. June is currently a doctoral student at Boston University and hopes to share her love of music with students in the area.  She started with South Shore Conservatory in 2011.
