DMF Prep  Summer 2012

a challenging chamber and orchestra opportunity for string players and pianists ages 10-18

July 2 - 13 (no DMF Prep classes July 4)
Weekdays: 9 am to 3 pm
Closing Concert: Friday, July 13, 2012 at PAC, 5:30 pm

The Boston String Quartet will be in residence for two days (Wednesday, July 11, and Thursday,
July 12) coaching students on contemporary repertoire chosen and transcribed by them for each of the Prep's ensembles.

 

Duxbury Music Festival Prep (DMF Prep)
Designed for string players and pianists with intermediate to advanced level of musicianship and technical proficiency, DMF Prep provides the opportunity to explore classical chamber ensemble and orchestral repertoire. Students are placed in the appropriate ensemble based on age and audition performance.

All string students must attend a placement audition. Please plan to play something that best represents your current level of ability.

 

 

Auditions

String Auditions: May 9, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Hingham Campus, May 11, 3:00 pm- 9:00 pm at Ellison Center, May 12, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Ellison Center.
Please contact Jonathan Lam to schedule audition (j.lam@sscmusic.org).

Piano Auditions: April 26 and 27, 2012, 5:00 - 6:30 pm, Hingham campus. Please contact Stephen Deitz to schedule audition (s.deitz@sscmusic.org).

Student pianists must contact Stephen Deitz via email (s.deitz@sscmusic.org ) to establish a specific audition time between 5:00-6:30 PM on either April 26 or 27.

Non-SSC pianists: Please contact Stephen Deitz (s.deitz@sscmusic.org) to schedule an audition time on one of the dates listed above.

SSC pianists: Both student and teacher should contact Stephen Deitz (s.deitz@sscmusic.org) to determine if an audition will be necessary. If so, the students will be asked to schedule a time on one of the dates listed above.
