Community Partnership Program

South Shore Conservatory’s Community Partnership Program provides quality arts programming to schools, agencies, and organizations in our community.  Core to the mission of SSC is the belief that the arts are vital to, and an innate part of, life.  Experiencing the arts enriches lives in so many ways and we are dedicated to providing creative, flexible, and responsive arts programs to those in our community who may have challenges accessing them.

Partnerships are intended to reinforce and support community efforts through formal instrument instruction, group and ensemble development and participation, staff consultation and trainings, and specialized service delivery.  Programs are most often delivered directly in the community utilizing neighborhood resources and supports in a truly collaborative nature.

Currently SSC provides partnership with community schools including Hamilton Elementary and St. Francis Xavier in Weymouth, Sacred Heart in Quincy, Bourne, Pembroke, and Scituate Public Schools.  Specialized arts programs have been developed in partnership with South Shore YMCA and the Germantown Neighborhood Center, The Arc of Greater Plymouth, New England Villages, and Old Colony Montessori School.

Programs can be designed to meet the specific needs of community organizations.  Our skilled faculty is committed to sharing their passion for the arts.  Our mission is to provide for all our community, access to quality education in the arts.

For more information on our Community Partnerships and how you can get involved, please contact Eve Montague, MSM, MT-BC, Director of Community Partnerships, at 781-934-2731, x20.

A True Community Partnership at Germantown

Germantown students

For the past couple of years South Shore Conservatory has been running an arts program at Germantown Neighborhood Center every Tuesday afternoon. Our early childhood teachers provide a comprehensive music/movement curriculum that centers around folk arts and storytelling. Recently the Germantown students, under the direction of Su D’Ambrosio, sang Jingle Bells and This Little Light of Mine at the Community Center’s holiday party. Check out the happy faces of these children playing with Miss Su’s scarves!
